Survival Stories

The Great Recession is wrecking havoc on the global economy as both superstar and regular value producers are losing their jobs. The best offense against displacment during these challenging times is a great defense. Not only must employees continue to add value by helping to increase revenue, reduce costs, and/or streamline operations; they must also ensure that important people recognize their value and are willing to stand up for them during the headcount reduction (or displacement) meetings.

Since the wisdom of the crowd is richer than the wisdom of a few; I requested interviews from various superstars who have survived displacement on several occasions. These individuals agreed to share their recession job survival stories with the online community. So whether you are currently employed or seeking your next opportunity (since you are going to land it), these are "displacement-proof" tactics you want to make sure you employ.
