Now I am going to share some tough love. It was evident from this call that some participants did not complete all of their homework assignments. At the bare minimum, participants need to read the 11 page training document, view the tutorials, and listen to the previous 3 Career Factory episodes and the Job Campaign intro call. Afterwards, participants need to incorporate a few of these tactics into their current job search and ask for solutions to problems they encountered during the weekly Q&A sessions.

You must realize that you are the only person responsible for landing your next opportunity. You must also realize that the US is experiencing a net loss (job gains + job losses) of jobs in the hundreds of thousands each month of 2009 thus far. Likewise, this job market is different from previous job markets you have experienced. So you must take your job search seriously and leave your comfort zone – since this may be the toughest time to land a job since the Great Depression.
