How many times have you seen a fellow job seeker indirectly state: “I need a job?”

You have probably seen this on a few occasions. You (or you know someone who does), 14M+ other Americans, and I need jobs. However, the chances of someone providing us with jobs are probably not that great.

Remember this adage: “Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Teach him to fish and he eats for a lifetime”. Well, this adage applies to the online career community. By utilizing the wisdom of the crowd, job seekers will learn how to create their dream jobs or next opportunities; insight that will last a lifetime in regards to their job search and professional careers.

The wisdom of the crowd depends on a large community of active participants (job seekers and various career experts) who share what have worked and not worked for them. Some techniques that did not work for some may have worked for others. Likewise, the plan is for participants (who executed techniques successfully) to share how they did this – benefiting the entire community. Also it’s important to not be critical of others’ techniques and that it is okay to agree, disagree, or agree to disagree.

Nonetheless, the more participants that join and actively participate, the more knowledge and best practices the community can offer. Likewise, it’s extremely important that each participant spread the word about this charitable community; by encouraging others to participate by helping each other land their next opportunity faster.

In addition to acquiring more knowledge and sharpening your skills by actively participating in this online community; you will also increase your network. Likewise, you may meet future employers, employees, business partners, customers, and etcetera. The sky is the limit since you will get out of the community what you put into it.
