As a current job seeker, one of my pet peeves is the years of experience requirement. At times it seems that qualified candidates who can easily meet or exceed a potential employer’s expectations are screened out; if they do not have “sufficient” experience. However, I have not seen one job posting with an actionable result requirement. For example, an ideal candidate must have generated $XXM in revenue and/or profit growth on a yearly or cumulative basis.

On Tuesday June 30th, I am going to post my first blog post about the career search. My career posts will be more interesting relative to my sales and industry analysis posts. I will cover the various traditional and creative techniques I have employed since February and let you know what has worked and vice versa for me. I will also cover some annoyances during the job search such as “Experience versus Results,” “The Unknown Brand,” etcetera.
Also feel free to tell all of your friends (and encourage them to do the same) about the online community; I am creating for you to actively participate with each other and experts by sharing best practices to boost each participant’s job search.
Since I am currently developing the site, I will not post any new sales or industry analysis posts this week.
Thanks-Kenrick

Sales professionals should ensure that all decision makers are (or will be) present to hear their presentations to prevent delays in the sales process. If not, sales professionals will either have to conduct the presentation again or rely on a middle man to convey the information to the decision maker(s). Since a middle man cannot present the information as well, sales professionals may not be invited back to continue the selling process.

The recession is taking a toll on the full-service restaurant industry due to rising unemployment and declining consumer confidence and household income. Restaurant dining frequency, average spend per visit, and total revenue are projected to decline; since individuals are expected to eat at home more, order fewer courses, and make value purchases. Several restaurant operators will exit the industry and industry consolidation is expected to take place.
