With 14.5+ million Americans searching for work (and monthly net job losses), this is probably the most difficult time since the Great Depression to acquire a career/job. Likewise, as a fellow job seeker, I have created a free or charitable online community to unite job seekers and career experts – to help as many individuals possible land their next opportunity. Below is more information for the Career Factory weekly talk shows, the online career community (July 15th completion date), and the “8 Weeks Till Our Next Job” campaign.

The goal of the Career Factory weekly talk shows is to teach job seekers how to actively create their own market for jobs; instead of predominantly relying on the passive approach of applying for jobs online. The first episode, “How to Create Your Own Job Market,” is scheduled for Tuesday, July 14th at 9PM-10PM EST. The expert guest speaker will be David E. Perry, co-author of “Guerrilla Marketing for Job Hunters 2.0″.
When it comes to creatively setting yourself apart from other job seekers in probably the toughest job market since the Great Depression, there is probably no one better to learn from than David Perry. Ever heard of the Coffee Cup Caper technique? Enough said.

As a fellow job seeker, I have spent the last six weeks working long hours to create and complete this community by the July 15th deadline. Most importantly, I still need to land my next opportunity. Likewise, on July 20th I encourage all job seekers to participate in my “8 Weeks Till Our Next Job” campaign which requires the participants and I to work diligently to land or move closer to landing our next opportunity.
We (fellow job seekers) have acquired a lot of job search knowledge during the process. Now it’s time to put this knowledge to work by executing and ending our job search!
No matter if you are currently employed or not, I would encourage you to actively participate by following our journey towards employment!
Spread the Word: In conclusion, the wisdom of the crowd depends on a large community of active participants (job seekers and various career experts) who share what have worked and not worked for them. The more participants that join and actively participate, the more knowledge and best practices the community can offer. Likewise, I strongly encourage you to actively participate and encourage many of your fellow job seekers to do the same.
